Power Yoga Palm Springs yoga teacher Janet
About Janet Vance:
Teaching yoga is a dream come true for me. It was shortly after moving to Palm Springs that I realized that I wanted to teach yoga. I enjoyed the yoga classes offered in Palm Springs, but realized something was missing for me. I had the opportunity to move briefly out of Palm Springs to San Diego in order to attend a yoga teacher training program. The power yoga teacher training program gave me the experience I needed to guide others in the beautiful practice of yoga. I moved back a soon as I completed the program and started teaching yoga in the park in Palm Springs. I soon found a yoga studio near Palm Springs and added two additional classes to my yoga class offering. The yoga students taking class with me encouraged me to offer more yoga classes. In order to teach more yoga classes I needed to open my own yoga studio in Palm Springs.

In June of 2010 I realized another dream. I opened Power Yoga Palm Springs on the north end of Palm Springs. Every day new yoga students discover Power Yoga Palm Springs.  Yoga transformed my life here in Palm Springs. I feel honored to be able to share the gifts of a regular yoga practice with others. Please discover for your self the transformational effects of power yoga for yourself.

Melissa assists students in Palm Springs in finding their personal edge, allowing them to discover the physical and emotional balance between effort and surrender with upbeat, vinyasa flow  (linking movement with breath) with the application of precise alignment, meditation, visualization, and intention to create an inner journey towards healing and empowerment.

Her classes are fun and challenging. She uses breath and music to compliment the different aspects of her class in Palm Springs and to help open and soften the mind, body and spirit. Her calm and nurturing presence creates an environment where students feel safe to explore and grow.

As a yoga teacher in Palm Springs, I enjoy sharing the knowledge of hatha yoga and its physical benefits. I trained at the Western Yoga College and became Yoga Alliance certified. In addition I participated in Flow Yoga Ashtanga workshops and have been a Vinyasa and Bikram yoga practitioner since 2003. I enjoy meeting the needs and expectation of yoga students in Palm Springs to help them cultivate their personal yoga experience.

While teaching vinyasa yoga in Palm Springs I often mix in Pilates exercises to encourage yoga students to use core power and the cardiovascular system. Gentle Yoga Palm Springs InstructorAbout Angela Raney:
Angela Raney- Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT-200):

Angela's introduction to “the pearl” of yoga was at a Buddhist retreat center in rural southern New Hampshire in the early 1980’s.

Angela teaches an eclectic blend of different yoga styles that is most heavily influenced by the Iyengar school which puts emphasis on proper physical alignment and breathing.

She encourages the use of modified poses and props to make the healing benefits of yoga accessible to all regardless of age, body type, health status or physical ability.

“I believe that Yoga truly is a multi-layered ‘pearl’ that has something of value to offer to anyone who is willing to take the time and make the effort to practice it.”

JohnnyAbout Johnny Yuhas:
Johnny is thrilled with the opportunity to share his Bhakti Yoga practice with Power Yoga Palm Springs. He has practiced Yoga for 15 years and was Certified to teach in October 2011 with the Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica, California. Under his Guru Govindas, a deeper understanding of the true connection between mind, body, soul and spirituality was made through Bhakti practice. Johnny works full time as an Emergency Registered Nurse and combines his  skills to incorporate anatomy and physiology into his teaching to safely deepen the practice. Johnny can truly say he is living what was once a dream and has attributes it all to his yogic path and divine timing.

JohnnyAbout Amy Hertz:
Amy is a licensed educational psychologist, practicing in the Palm Springs area.  It was during her first year as a psychologist working in the public schools when she discovered yoga and used it as a tool to combat stress and to stay in shape. The feeling brought her back to the years of gymnastics and diving training and to the mind-body connection she once had.  It was then that she decided to study and practice yoga.  She completed her 200 hour RYT training with YogFit Training Systems and continues to work toward the 500 hour level. Her teaching style combines the Iyengar school's emphasis on alignment and form with a vinyasa style linking breath and movement.
